One of our first adventures here in Thomasville besides moving into our new home was going blueberry picking. A friend through the church came by and invited us to go with he and several of his friends and family members and pick as many blueberries as we wanted for no charge! This man's family has several hundred acres of property and crops. Growing on part of the farm are these blueberry bushes you see behind Timothy and me in the picture above. (Much different than Massachusetts blueberry bushes!) So of course we went! I was thrilled to take my grandmother's metal picnic basket with us to carry them in. At the end of about an hour, between the two of us, we had picked a gallon or so and had eaten about that many as well. Needless to say, in the days that followed, we had blueberry cream muffins, blueberries and yogurt, blueberry cobbler, etc.
...ramblings, happenings, and stuff we love about our life as a family of four
