Friday Feature: An Accomplished Woman

The following is a guest post from Cynthia over at An Accomplished Woman. As she puts it, she is "an Economist and Accountant, who gave up the glamorous life of numbers to follow her passion of homemaking and wanted to share it with her friends."  Be sure to pay her a visit!

Christmas

Thank you Ashley for letting me visit your blog, I wish I could come to see you, Timothy and your adorable baby in person but this visit will have to be enough. Ashley and Timothy were the most  “Christ- centered” people that I know and they inspired me to write this post.
I love the Christmas season, who doesn’t. Christmas is the time of year, where I can cover everything in red and green and get away with glitter, gold, poinsettias, burgundy velvet ribbon and evergreens. Bowls are filled with Christmas balls, the tree is trimmed with special ornaments that remind us of loved ones, time gone by and even my dogs get trimmed in Christmas hats, or ears or velvet collars and jingle with bells.
My home smells like Christmas pines, cinnamon and baked cookies. The mail is filled with cards from distant relatives and friends, treasures that are filled with pictures and tales of their last year. During this time of year, we all make a point to be kinder, more giving and thoughtful. I love the mall… people shushing and bustling.
While all these things are important, the most important thing I do during this season has to do with a little baby, the center of my Christmas is found in a small Italian ceramic manger in my living room.

The center of Christmas in our home should be the child in the manger.
