Patriots' Day?

Today is Patriots' Day in Massachusetts. When our first Patriots' Day rolled around in April two years ago, I totally thought that the state/region was celebrating the New England Patriots... glad they're not, by the way. But upon closer inspection and a little Wikipedia research, I discovered that the Commonwealth is giving people a day off in April to commemorate the start of the Revolutionary War at Lexington and Concord and the "shot heard 'round the world" (which was NOT heard entirely around the world, America does NOT run on Dunkin' Donuts, and Massachusetts is NOT the "spirit" of America). On this day (also in Maine and Wisconsin), children are off from school, lots of businesses are closed, the Red Sox play at Fenway Park, the Boston Marathon is run, and many reenactments take place around the state. So to those of you unaware of this "very important civic holiday," help me in thanking Thomas Gage by wishing those around you a Happy Patriots' Day!
