Timothy is a pastor!

The moment you've all been waiting for... as of this afternoon, after a congregational meeting, Timothy is the Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian of Thomasville, Georgia! We've been busting at the seams wanting to tell everyone we know ALL of the details, but the Presbyterian Church doesn't work that way. :) But it is now official (still pending Presbytery vote on June 23)! Thank you so much for the many prayers prayed and kind words spoken throughout this process.

The rest of this post will be dedicated to filling in the gaps that we had to leave until this vote took place today.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a list of things that would be happening in the near future for us.

1. Our house
Pictured below in the "It's May!" post, this is our new home in Thomasville! We have settled on a price, had the home inspection, been in further negotiations, and will close June 8. We will most likely move in the week of June 14-20.

2. Timothy's graduation
Saturday, May 9, Timothy graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity.
Later that day, we celebrated with friends (from church, work, and seminary) and family (Mom, Dad, Debbie, Bob, Ken, and Paul) at the home of Paul and Loretta Howell. What wonderful hosts they were!
Another Paul from our current church smoked ribs. Mom, Loretta, and I filled in with side dishes, and we enjoyed this cake from Costco!

3. Teaching
Ashley finishes teaching on Friday, June 12... counting the days... 17 school days left...

4. Our move to Georgia
We will be moving the weekend after I finish teaching, not exactly sure of that date yet.

5. Examination
Timothy will be examined on the Presbytery floor in Georgia on Tuesday, June 23.

6. Ordination
Timothy will be ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament at Second Presbyterian Church, Knoxville, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 28 at 3:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend!

7. Timothy will start his new call as associate pastor the week of June 29.

Whew! You tired yet? We sure are, but we are super-excited for this new chapter in our lives. God is Good!
